We are delighted to welcome you for a stay in the Chicken Shed, our luxury, boutique, self catering cottage on the side of Pendle Hill.

This industrial-chic converted barn on the ruins of an old farm outbuilding, with original stones and beams that had been found in the local area. This solitary cottage is completely separated from our farm house and guests see no neighbours except for sheep and cows, but we are close enough if assistance is required.

The Chicken Shed is built to immerse our guests in nature, while keeping them comfortable with perfect insulation. There is a thermostat heater installed but guests additionally have the option of a pellet burner for a live flame and that cosy feel.

This generous hide-away is the perfect romantic couple’s getaway or a single guest’s retreat.

Please know that the facility is non-smoking and dogs aren’t allowed – sorry!

Get a 10% discount when you book a 2-3 night stay, or a 15% discount with a 4+ night stay, including a complimentary apéro hamper with a bottle of Prosecco.

We appreciate direct bookings, but if preferred, are very happy to take them via Booking.com or Airbnb platforms and prices should be matched. We are very proud to have achieved a Booking.com rating of 9.8 for the years 2022, 2023 & 2024.

Things to do

Explore

The Ribble Valley is one of the U.K.’s best kept secrets. Within close distance of the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, it has a little bit of everything, dramatic landscapes, soft rolling hills, picturesque little villages and also a cultural hub in the bustling market town of Clitheroe.

The Ribble springs from the Dales and makes her meandering way to the sea by Lytham St. Anne. She is fed by the Hodder and the Calder, and has seen the Celts, Romans, Normans and Saxons fight, settle, build garrisons or castles along its banks.

Today, the Borough is primarily agricultural. Low-scale eco-tourism brings visitors who enjoy to explore off the beaten path, away from crowds, at one with nature.
